Organization & Philosophy

Mission    Heritage    Competencies    Organization

Jones & Jones' management team is a disciplined group of professionals who are technically competent as engineers and well-founded as practitioners of good management. We are dedicated to the management of the entire capital improvement process, from strategic facility planning to design, construction and occupancy of a facility. We believe in a team approach to manage the capital improvement process.

We have an obligation to verify and confirm the client's overall objectives and goals will be achieved by every detail of the facility's program. This is our opportunity to confirm the facility will maximize performance of the institution.

Members of the facility planning team, including outsourced professionals, should be selected for their knowledge and ability to execute efficiently as part of our team.

We ensure our team helps the owner by:

  • Lowering the cost of planning, design and preparation for construction
  • Lowering the client's costs of operation during construction
  • Lowering the cost of construction
  • Lowering the cost of financing
  • Lowering the client's costs of post-construction operation
  • Increasing the facility's performance
  • Increasing the client's performance
  • Aligning the client's performance with the client's mission

We treat the client's goals as the primary purpose of our concern. Therefore we are focused in obtaining answers to the client's fundamental questions:

Q: How can our (client's) facility maximize the fulfillment of our (client's) mission?

Q: How can our facility improve the productivity of our organization?

Q: How can we maintain productivity during the planning and construction process?

Q: Should we consider phasing; if so, which is the best model?

Q: Which professional planning disciplines do we need?

Q: How can we reduce the cost of planning and design?

Q: Can we rely on construction cost models?

Q: Are there contract formats and terms essential for maximizing performance of contracted parties?

Q: Should tax planning influence our facility design?

Q: Can we reduce the cost of assessments, fees and permits?

Q: Can we mitigate the cost of utilities?

Q: How can we lower our facility maintenance and operational costs?

Q: How can we reduce the cost of construction?

Q: Can constructability of the project influence the cost of the facility?

Q: How can we control the speed of construction?

Q: How can we reduce the cost of bonds and insurance associated with construction?

Q: Can we control the cost of testing and inspection?

Q: How soon can we get to market with our services?

Q: How can we achieve the best financing for the project?

Q: Can we reduce costs associated with construction accidents?
